On February 27th, the new Green Wish Kansas City chapter officially launched with the event “Green Affaire:  Local Dishes Supporting Green Wishes.”   Over 250 attendees indulged in culinary delights from 16 restaurants committed to local food sourcing and sustainability.  Green Wish Kansas City proudly presented checks totaling $2500 to this chapter’s 5 beneficiary charities:  Kansas City Community Gardens, Bridging the Gap, Kansas City Food Circle, Jerusalem Farm and the Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary.

Future events for this chapter include participation in the Local and Organic Food Expo on April 12 and an Earth Day celebration at Anton’s KC restaurant,where Anton’s will donate 10% of all purchases on April 22nd to Green Wish KC.  Door prizes, t-shirt sales and other surprises are planned for the day.  Keep up with local GW KC events on the Green Wish KC Facebook page.
